Trick photography or method photography is just simply splendid at times. These photographers use some methods to get the best photos, be that of humans or animals. This professional photographer Jess Bell, a Canadian, has invented the method of throwing color powder on dogs and getting the best pictures and it turns out to be the best job.
My name is Jess Bell. I’m a Canadian photographer with a flair for capturing unique and artistic images of animals in action.
His all photos at Instagram speak for themselves and are unique in their own way. Recently he organized some of talented dogs of his friends to partake in the colored powder photo shoots.
“I recently organized some of my very talented dog-owning friends (and their exceptional pups of course) to participate in colored powder photo shoots in order to experiment with a new technique I wanted to try out. The results are bright, crisp and dynamic! These photos are turning heads all over the internet.”
The craziness of swirling dynamic colors turned out to be phenomenally exceptional and the photo shoot was done in real time and on location. The results of every simple image show the variation in the movement of different dog breeds. It clearly shows how each of them is different from the other on the mobility scale.

Rush – Border Collie
RUSH! And what a rush to photograph this beautiful guy. (See what I did there? 😛 It’s okay to groan a little.) When I found out that beautiful Rush was attending my holi agility shoot, I knew I’d have to shoot him in red.
Fire and Ice – Mix & Coolie
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice. -Robert Frost
Style – Border Collie
“I had an amazing (and slightly frozen) photo shoot this weekend with some insanely talented agility dogs and my holi powder. The powder compliments their movement and power so perfectly. I love how it pours off Style’s body here and she powers over a jump” Jess Bell
Slice – Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
“For this photo, I just lit Slice on fire and pointed her at a jump. (Hah. Okay, maybe not. But I LOVE how the orange powder billows off dogs like flames.) Slice is an enormously talented young Toller…..”Jess Bell
BLUE WAVE
Nyero – Mudi
“Can anyone guess what breed Nyero is? This is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a dog of this breed…” Jess Bell
PINK
Lottie – Border Collie
“I’m so in love with this holi dog series. Want to get some action photos of your dogs in action with a splash of colour? Contact me for details.”Jess Bell
True – Australian Shepherd
“I love how the powder clearly shows True’s trajectory as he jumps. It’s so perfect for amplifying action and capturing the elegance of movement. “Jess Bell

Lyric – German Coolie
“…Lyric is on fire! This young dog is so full of talent. My mind was just about blown when her owner reminded me that she was only 3 years old…”Jess Bell
Gnash – Malinois
“Gnash has got to be one of the prettiest Malinois I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. And of course, he’s not just a pretty face – he’s insanely talented too…” Jess Bell
Tenacity – Mudi
“Tenacity was so incredibly speedy during her turns! The first time she ran she caught me by surprise and I could barely keep her in frame. What a cool little dog…” Jess Bell
Cohen – Australian Shepherd
“…I’m not surprised that some people think that the powder is added in post-production. But this effect is captured in-camera and on-set..!” Jess Bell
Gemma – Mix
“Gemma is an incredibly fast and talented agility dog! Look at how the powder is carried forward by her ears! It was fascinating to see how the powder acted on a shorter-coated dog.,,”Jess Bell
Lottie – Border Collie
“Wow, what a weekend! Many thanks to my friends who came out to let me use them as guinea pigs for some ideas that I’ve had percolating around in my head for a while now…” Jess Bell
