When we’re sat at our desks working a boring 9 to 5 day job, we all wander into the occasional daydream about handing in our notice, jumping on a plane and disappearing to the other side of the world for some well deserved TLC and beyond. Well, Sergi Bosoli had similar hopes and dreams, but instead of just wondering what could be, he decided to simply go for it and jump onto a kayak instead of an aeroplane. That might not have been our preferred mode of transport, but it seems to have worked for him. Having already traveled 5000km over the course of 3 years across the Mediterranean from Barcelona, Sergi even picked up a canine companion on his way. Yep, he quit his job to kayak the Mediterranean for 3 years with a dog.

Sergi started his journey in his hometown of Barcelona, Spain and has already traveled a pretty staggering 5000 km, and it seems that’s just the beginning.

While stopping at Sardinia, he found a dog and appropriately named him Nirvana to reflect his location and the journey he’d undertaken.

Nirvana was more than happy to jump onto the kayak and join Sergi Bosoli on his epic journey which is still ongoing.

Nirvana seems like a pretty good partner in crime for when times during the journey get rough. It’s certainly a nice life to have a furry companion by your side.

There also appears to be some kind of ragged old Elmo that’s come along for what appears to be becoming the adventure of a lifetime.

We wonder if Nirvana is aware of the amazing journey that he’s chosen to undertaken alongside his new companion, Sergi.

When you’re travelling so slowly on a little kayak, you definitely have the time to really take in and appreciate the amazing sights surrounding you.

Dogs are definitely man’s best friend, and Nirvana is definitely one of the cutest travel buddies to have around with you.

Nirvana is probably thinking something along the lines of, “the dogs back in Sardinia are never going to believe the time that I’ve had, well, if I ever get back…”

After setting up camp, Sergi even managed to set some time aside to tach Nirvana a few new tricks. They’ve clearly become the best of friends over the course of the trip.

Nirvana is looking a little bit windswept here, but we’re pretty sure that he really couldn’t care less about any grooming at this point.
