A cat that occupy a small shop or store is called a “bodega cat” or just “bodega” in NYC. The New Yorkers call their small shops with the same name “Bodega” as well. These Bodega felines are not there to look over the customers but they really help the staff in difficult times. They comfort the workers when they have been tired off by the customers. They even carry small chores including rodent control, pest control and entertainment through out the day with their small tricks.

This project is carried out by the Social Media enthusiasts to applaud the services of these Bodegas. The tact is not hectic. Whenever someone spots a Bodega he takes a picture of it while enjoying its occupied space and sends the picture to the owners of those social media accounts.
